Mediation

Mediation is a process available to individuals looking to resolve legal disputes outside of litigation. The process is focused on resolving disputes between the parties directly instead of just through their legal representatives. Mediations resolve issues far quicker than litigation as there are no court appearances and appointments. Mediation can range from taking 5 hours to 15 hours. Mediations are confidential and result in binding contractual agreements. There is no compulsion to participate in mediation if either party wishes to discontinue. If the parties decide they can achieve what they are looking for more in litigation, they are free to terminate the process. People prefer mediation to litigation as it preserves the dignity of both parties and brings them closer to the resolution they are seeking without compromising on their needs due to the adversarial process often found litigation.
